Muling nanawagan si Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano ng isang komprehensibong pagsusuri ng mga tulay at pampublikong imprastraktura sa bansa kasunod ng pagbagsak ng isa pang tulay sa Northern Luzon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ito\u2019y matapos bumigay ang halos 45 na taong gulang na Piggatan Bridge sa Alcala, Cagayan nitong Lunes, October 6, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ilang trailer truck ang bumulusok kasama ng istruktura at hindi bababa sa pitong indibidwal ang nasugatan sa insidente. Kasalukuyang hindi na ito madaanan ng lahat ng uri ng sasakyan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pinangunahan ni Cayetano ang imbestigasyon ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee sa bumagsak na Cabagan-Sta. Maria bridge sa Isabela nitong nakaraang Pebrero. Sa pagdinig na ito niya hinimok ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) na simulan nang suriin ang kaligtasan ng mga tulay sa buong bansa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want answers if this (Cabagan-Isabela bridge) is an exception at may nangyari lang dito, or if they don’t know whether there are other bridges like this. We should at least know which bridges are unsafe and then ask whether nandun y\u2019ung mga safeguards, whether it’s the signs or yung magwe-wave or i-close muna,\u201d wika ni Cayetano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have to get to the bottom of this. Ang intention ng bridge is to transform (the area) as it is the gateway to the countryside,\u201d aniya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wika ni Cayetano, kailangang siguraduhin na ang lahat ng pampublikong imprastraktura ay maaasahan dahil malaki ang epekto nito sa buhay at ekonomiya ng bansa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kung may isyu ng irregularidad sa insidente, umaasa ang senador na titiyakin ng DPWH sa pamumuno ni Secretary Vince Dizon ang pananagutan sa pamamagitan ng preventive suspension at iba pang nararapat na parusa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe only ask for efficient safe infrastructure in our country that people can travel, goods can be transported, and that the economy can grow. Na kahit rural y\u2019ung area, may kuryente, tubig, internet hospitals, at eskwelahan,\u201d giit ng Minority Leader. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe need to pay better attention to our infrastructure programs and put things in order,\u201d dagdag niya. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isang linggo matapos ang insidente, sinimulan na ng DPWH ang pag-alis ng mga naipit na sasakyan at kargamento mula sa gumuhong tulay, kasabay ng pinabilis na pagtatayo ng mas matibay na detour bridge na may kapasidad na 40 tonelada o higit doble sa 18 tonelada na orihinal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nangako naman si Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon na tatapusin ang detour bridge sa loob ng dalawang buwan para mapagaan ang epekto sa ekonomiya ng gumuhong tulay sa kabuhayan ng mga residente.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n
