Hinimok ni Senador Win Gatchalian ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) na tiyaking makakatulong ang Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES)  sa kahandaan ng mga mag-aaral sa senior high school na makapagtrabaho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Binalikan ni Gatchalian ang isang ulat ng International Initiative for Impact Evaluation noong 2020, kung saan lumabas na walang epekto ang SPES sa academic outcomes at kahandaan ng mga mag-aaral sa trabaho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ipinapatupad ng DOLE ang SPES sa tulong ng mga local government units (LGUs) upang bigyan ng pansamantalang trabaho ang mga mag-aaral tuwing bakasyon. Para sa 2026, P800 milyon ang nakalaan para sa programa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKung maiuugnay natin ang SPES sa ating mga mag-aaral sa senior high school, mabibigyan natin sila ng trabaho,\u201d ani Gatchalian, Chairman ng Senate Committee on Finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayon kay  Labor Undersecretary Carmela Torres, sinisiguro ng DOLE na ang mga work assignment ng mga mag\u2013aaral ay nakakapagbigay ng practical work experience, life skills, at makabuluhang exposure sa trabaho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dadgag ni Gatchalian, makatutulong ang SPES upang tugunan ang pagkadismaya ng mga Pilipino sa senior high school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Noong 2024, tinulungan ng DOLE ang 84,745 na mga benepisyaryo ng SPES. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
