{"id":3722,"date":"2026-01-09T20:49:27","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T12:49:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/roadnews.net\/?p=3722"},"modified":"2026-01-09T20:49:28","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T12:49:28","slug":"panukala-sa-senado-ofw-remittance-fees-tatapyasan-nang-kalahati","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roadnews.net\/index.php\/2026\/01\/09\/panukala-sa-senado-ofw-remittance-fees-tatapyasan-nang-kalahati\/","title":{"rendered":"Panukala sa Senado: OFW REMITTANCE FEES, TATAPYASAN NANG KALAHATI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ni Ernie Reyes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Naghain ng isang panukala sa Senado na naglalayong tapyasan ng kalahati ng ibinabayad ng remittance fees ng overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) upang protektahan ang kinikita ng ating kababayan sa abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Layunin ng Senate Bill No. 1074 o mas kikilalanin bilang \u201cOverseas Filipino Workers Remittance Protection Act\u201d na bawasan ng kalahati ang remittance fees ng OFWs upang protektahan sila laban sa mataas na singil, unfair practices at financial exploitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nakatakda sa SB No. 1074, ayon kay Senador Jinggoy Estrada na atasan ang lahat ng bangko at non-bank financial intermediaries na magbigay ng mandatory 50 percent discount sa remittance fees na puwedeng singilin ang halaga bilang&nbsp;tax deduction sa kanilang operational costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is a win-win situation for our OFWs and their families, as well as for banks and remittance centers,\u201d ayon sa mambabatas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor every hour our OFWs spend away from their families, they make irreplaceable sacrifices and time that no dollar can compensate for.
