Maganda ang 10-year plan, I support it. Maganda po ang findings ng EDCOM 2 &#8211; y\u2019ung first, second, and third publications. Pero sa Pilipinas, kailangan natin linawin ang ating target,\u201d dagdag niya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sabi pa ni Cayetano, nasa ulat ng EDCOM 2 na kinakailangang pag-aralan kung epektibo ang K to 12 sa bansa dahil ang pagbabago ng basta-basta sa curriculum ay hindi sapat habang hindi maayos ang kasalukuyang sistema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aniya, malinaw ito sa mga resulta kung saan 0.4% ng mga mag-aaral sa Grade 12 ay natututo, samantalang 74% ay bagsak kahit sa minimal skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matagal nang kritiko sa pagpapatupad ng programa si Cayetano dahil, aniya, bigo ang K to 12 na ihatid ang mga ipinangakong pagpapabuti nito sa edukasyon. Kaya mula nang bumalik siya sa Senado noong 2022, nag-iingay na siya para gumawa ang mga kinauukulan ng isang radikal na desisyon para ito ay suspindihin o tuluyang pondohan ng gobyerno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kinilala ng senador ang marangal na hangarin sa likod ng K to 12 program at ang iba&#8217;t ibang pagsisikap na ginawa ng mga stakeholder upang matugunan ang mga hamon sa edukasyon ng bansa. Gayunpaman, nagbabala siya na nabibitin ang potensyal ng programa dahil sa patuloyn na pag-aalinlangan ng gobyerno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI don&#8217;t want to use half-hearted kasi tumotodo naman tayo. But ang punto ko, kung hanggang 100 kilometers ang takbo ng kotse at kaya natin mag-100 kilometers, no one can say na half-hearted tayo. Pero kung hanggang 200 kilometers ang takbo ng kotse, at sabihin natin, \u2018Boss, hanggang 120 lang kaya natin, yung 80, hindi\u2019, y\u2019ung potential na 80 ay half-hearted,\u201d paliwanag niya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Habang suportado niya ang panukala, muling ipinanawagan ni Cayetano sa gobyerno na magdesisyon na sa programa.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMr. President, may I just put that at the doorstep or at the feet of our honorable senators and decision-makers. Yes, let&#8217;s do everything we can \u2014 better budget for 2027, full implementation in 2026, a 10-year plan.
