Malaki ang pakinabang ng senior citizens sa bansa kapag naisabatas nang tuluyan ang Philippine Geriatric Center Act na pinagtibay ng Senado sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa, ayon kay Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel \u201cMIgz\u201d Zubiri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sa pahayag, sinabi ni Zubiri na isang matibay na hakbang ang pagtatayo ng sentrong pagkalusugan sa senior citizens upang patatagin ang mas mahusay na healthcare system na tutugon ang reyalidad ng tumatandang populasyon at bigyan ng mahusay na atensiyon na kailangan nila.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs our population ages, our health system must be ready to care for the conditions that come with aging,\u201d ayon kay Zubiri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlam naman nating iba ang healthcare needs ng ating mga lolo, lola, nanay at tatay. Iba ang risk kaya dapat iba rin ang treatment. This is why I believe this bill, if enacted into law in its current form, will really respond to the needs of our seniors,\u201d giit ni Zubiri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inisponsor sa plenaryo ang Senate Bill No. 1509 \u2013  ni Sen. Risa Hontiveros at inawtor nina Zubiri at Senador. Mark Villar, Bong Go, Lito Lapid, Jinggoy Estrada, Loren Legarda, Erwin Tulfo, Raffy Tulfo, Joel Villanueva, Robin Padilla, JV Ejercito, Ronald \u201cBato\u201d Dela Rosa, Camille Villar, Kiko Pangilinan and Pia Cayetano \u2013 was approved on final reading last Monday.na inaprubahan noong Lunes sa huling pagbasa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayon kay Zubiri, isa ang naturang panukala sa priority measures sa ilalim ng   Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council, at nagpapakita ng magkasamang pagkilala sa pagitan ng Kongreso at Executive na dapat nakatutugon ang healthcare policy sa demographic changes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe measure was also approved on final reading in the House of Representatives, and I am very pleased that this will be taken up in the bicameral conference committee very soon. Isa itong napakagandang legacy na maiiwan ng 20th Congress, ang makapagpatayo ng Philippine Geriatric Center,\u201d ayon sa Bukidnon senator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayon kay Zubiri, maraming senior citizens ang makikinabang sa panukala saka binanggit na aabot sa 9.2 milyon ang ating senior citizens base sa datos noong 2020, at inaasahang tataas pa ito sa mga susunod na panahon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Layunin ng panukala na magtayo ng tertiary specialty hospital sa ilalim ng  Department of Health na nakatuon sa comprehensive geriatric services, habang nagsisilbing training and research hub upang pataasin ang pamantayan sa pangangalaga sa buong bansa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
