Let us not let this new pandemic threaten and destroy our values,\u201d sabi ni Cayetano sa isang statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bagamat binigyang diin ng mga regulator ang mga hakbang tulad ng mas mahigpit na Know-Your-Customer rules, advertising restrictions, at multa na umaabot sa daan-daang milyong piso, patuloy pa rin ang operasyon ng ilegal na e-sabong platforms sa labas ng hurisdiksyon ng Pilipinas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matagal nang kritiko si Cayetano sa anumang uri ng sugal. Noong 2022 elections, siya ang nag-iisang kandidato sa Senado na may malinaw na paninindigan laban sa gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ayon sa kanya, hindi dapat puro kita lang ang tutukan ng gobyerno mula sa gambling operations kundi pati na rin ang mas malawak na epekto nito sa lipunan<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sinabi rin niya na delikado ang accessibility ng digital platforms, lalo na para sa kabataan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGambling is addictive. Using the internet is addictive. If you put the two together, you can do that kind of gambling anywhere and anytime. Napaka delikado nito para sa atin,\u201d dagdag niya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ipinakita rin sa pagdinig na ilan sa mga ilegal na e-sabong operations ay nasa labas ng bansa, kaya mas mahirap ipatupad ang batas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ayon pa kay Cayetano, mas pinapalakas nito ang pangangailangan ng mas matibay na polisiya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKailangan nating putulin ang ugat ng problema.
