Tinatarget ng Senado na iratipika ang apat na pangunahing nuclear convention bago ang ika-limang State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand \u201cBongbong\u201d Marcos Jr., sa Hulyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sa pahayag, inihayag ito ni Senador Erwin Tulfo saka hiniling sa ilang ahensiya na tugunana ng tatlong-buwang timeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Itinakda ang target sa ginanap na pagdinig ng Senate Committee on Foreign Relations nitong Martes na tinalakayan ang pagkatid sa international nuclear safety and liability frameworks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSiguro bago mag-SONA ang Pangulo, tapos na po ‘yan \u2026 ma-ibabato nyo na po sa DFA,\u201d ayon kay Tulfo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kabilang sa conventions na pinag-aaralan ngayon ng pamahalaan ang   Convention on Nuclear Safety, Convention on Supplementary Compensation for Nuclear Damage, Protocol amending the Vienna Convention on Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage, at ang Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel and Radioactive Waste Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sinabi ni   Energy Undersecretary Giovanni Bacordo na apat sa protocols ang nasailalimm sa proseso habang isa lang ang kailangan ng concurrence ng  24 government agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe commit our best effort but we cannot speak again for the other 24 member agencies from which they require their concurrence also,\u201d ayon kay Bacordo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaya hinikayat ni Tulfo ang lahat ng ahensiya na ayusin ang koordinasyon saka iminungkahi ang  Cabinet-level discussions upang mapabilis ang pag-apruba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHindi ba pwede mag-usap-usap sa Cabinet meeting? I think you can do that, right ,\u201d aniya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inihayag naman ni  Department of Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Edgar Badajos na maaari nang magsumite ng kompletong dokumento ang ahensiya sa Office of the President kaagad kapag naisumite na ang lahat ng pangangailangan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSa amin po sir, once we receive the complete package from the lead agency, three to four days, ma-ibabato na po namin sa Presidente,\u201d giit ni Badajos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
