Pambabastos Ng Chinese Embassy Sa Senado, Kinastigo ni Hontiveros: ‘Di Kami Pabu-Bully’

Matinding kinastigo ni Senador Risa Hontiveros ang Chinese embassy sa Maynila matapos nitong bastusin ang Senate resolution na nagkokondena sa remarks nito sa ilang opisyal ng pamahalaan laban sa pambubully at panggipit sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).
Sa pahayag, sinabi ni Hontiveros na lehitimo ang isang resolusyon ng Senado at akmang sandata para sa mambabatas na magpahayag ng pangamba sa ilang pagkilos ng lubhang nakakaapekto sa batas ng Pilipinas, soberenya at pambansang interes.
“We will not be silenced or deterred by statements from foreign actors,” ayon kay Hontiveros.
“We will continue to use lawful instruments, including resolutions, to put these matters on record, kahit isang milyon pa ang pahayag laban dito. This is our constitutional duty,” giit pa ng senadora.
Katunayan, aniya, kahit 100 pang resolusyon ang ihain at hindi mababago ang sitwasyon dahil hindi Chinese embassy ang tunay na problema na kinahaharap ng Pilipinas na lumigwak sa pangkaraniwang internet troll.
“The real problem is the PLA Navy, Chinese Coast Guard, and Maritime Militia’s coercive behavior in the West Philippine Sea — water cannoning innocent fisherfolk, hindering freedom of navigation in our own EEZ, and ramming our vessels,” giit ni Hontiveros.
Aniya: “We are always open to cooperation, exchange, and the peaceful resolution of disputes. However, the Chinese government in Beijing must first demonstrate good faith by ceasing its harassment of our vessels in the West Philippine Sea.”
“Panawagan ko din muli sa mga Pilipino na maging mapagmatyag sa mga peke at mapanlinlang na naratibo. The Chinese government’s propaganda, especially on social media, is as brazen as its harassment in our waters,” dagdag ng senadora.
Sinabi pa ni Hontiveros nma hindi dapat pahintulutan ang mga dayuhang elemento na patuloy na maghasik ng pagkakawatak-watak sa ating bansa.
“I likewise urge the immediate passage of the West Philippine Sea Mandatory Education bill I authored this 20th Congress. Kailangan alam ng bawat Pilipino ang katotohanan at kahalagahan ng ating karapatan sa West Philippine Sea. A public with high maritime domain awareness remains our strongest defense against foreign information manipulation and interference,” aniya.
“Gong xi fa cai! Kung hei fat choi! And to everyone who will be celebrating, Happy Chinese Lunar New Year. Cheers to prosperity and peace, grounded in mutual respect and adherence to international law,” aniya pa.
Kasabay nito, kinondena din ni Senador Francis Pangilinan ang undiplomatic at boorish response ng Chinese embassy sa opisyal na pagkilos ng Senado, na lubhang paglabag sa Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations na pinatutunayan lamang nag bully talaga ang China, walang respeto sa international law at kailangan kondenahin ang kanilang pagkilos.
“We rest our case. We will never tolerate nor be cowed by foreigners disrespecting us in our own land,” ayon kay Pangilinan.
“We reiterate our call for the DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs) to take the necessary diplomatic measures to uphold the dignity of the Republic of the Philippines and to ensure that relations with other States are conducted in accordance with international law and established principles of State relations,” giit ng mambabatas.
