Nakalusot sa kumpirmasyon ng makapangyarihang Commission on Appointments (CA) nap pinamumunuan ni Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III ang 81 senior officers ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa ginanap na plenaryo nitong Miyerkoles.

Dulot nito, malugod na tinanggap ng pamunuan ng AFP ang kumpirmasyon ng ad intereim appointments ng 18 senior officers kaya’t nagkaroon ng mas mahusay at magandang posisyon ang sandatahan sa inisyatiba ng modernisasyon.

“Now formally confirmed, these senior officers are better positioned to advance modernization initiatives, enhance joint interoperability, and effectively carry out the military’s mandate to safeguard national sovereignty and protect the Filipino people, ayon sa AFP.

Nanguna sa listahan na kinumpirma ng CA si   Rear Admiral Andro Val Abayon, kasalukuyang hepe ng Presidential Security Command.

Ayon sa records ng CA, pinakamaraming contingent mula sa Philippine Army na may 39 colonel na nakatanggap ng opisyal na kumpirmasyon.

Sumunod naman ang   Philippine Navy na may 19 senior officers – dalawang rear admirals, kabilang si Abayon, isang commodore, at 16 naval captains.

Samantala, apat na miyembro naman ng Philippine Marine Corps na pawang senior officers ang nakumpirma – isang brigadier general at 3 colonels.

Siyam na kumpirmasyon naman ang nakopo ng Philippine Airforce na kinabibilangan ng isang   brigadier general at walong colonels.

“Completing the roster were 10 senior officers representing the AFP’s vital technical and administrative services. This specialized group includes two colonels from the Medical Corps, one from the Medical Administrative Corps, and four from the Nurse Corps. Rounding out the support services are one colonel from the Dental Service and two colonels from the Chaplain Service,” ayon sa AFP.
