SENATE PROBE IKINASA vs PAGGUHO NG LANDFILL SA CEBU; 8 NAMATAY
“[I]n light of rapid economic development, intensified industrialization, and population growth, problems arising from increased consumption, resource depletion, escalating waste generation, and recurrent flooding have become more pronounced, posing serious environmental, social, and economic risks,” ayon sa resolution.
“[T]hese circumstances underscore the urgent need to study, review, and, where necessary, recalibrate existing policies and institutional mechanisms on solid waste management to prevent similar tragedies and ensure full compliance with the law,” dagdag pa ng dokumento.
“Zero waste initiative is a national imperative,” ani Legarda sa statement. “We must move beyond awareness into stronger, decisive action. Every Filipino has a responsibility, and every institution must rise to the challenge of safeguarding our environment and future generations.”

“Every piece of trash becomes a barrier that endangers lives. Stronger waste discipline is the safeguard we can build together,” aniya.
